Pinterest: Back By Popular Demand

Enjoy this gallery of favorite pins

In case you don't know, Pinterest is rapidly becoming one of favorite social media platforms in the world. "Pins" (their name for images saved on a "board") dominate Google image search results. A "repin" is when another Pinterest user saves your pin on one of their boards. Whoever gets the most repins wins! Actually, there is no prize but it's exciting to pin something that many people enjoy.

I have featured specific boards in past articles here. They span art, anatomy, health, fitness, beauty, humor and personal interests. You can easily find the MYanatoMY Pinterest board by clicking the circular "P" Pinterest logo on each page of this site. Today, I want to share a few of our most popular pins — whether due to their captions or imagery. Sometimes, what I think may be a popular pin gets no traction. There appears to be a natural interest in beauty though. Please share your insight as to what makes these favorites.

The popularity of Pinterest stems as much from the easy-to-understand interface as it does the ability for images to transcend international language barriers. Unlike social media platforms with a primary focus on text, users can and often do repin images without being able to understand the captions. Share what you like about Pinterest in the comment section below.
